About:

Suburbia has been shaping the visual language of fashion and culture for over twenty years. Founded by creative directors Lee Swillingham and Stuart Spalding, the studio is built on a legacy of influential editorial work, from re-energising the iconic The Face in the 1990s to the internationally acclaimed Pop and Love magazines.

Their work has been featured in The Sunday Times, The New York Times and The Guardian, and recognised by The Society of Publication Designers, The Art Directors Club of New York and D&AD.

Suburbia has created defining campaigns for brands including Gucci, Zara and Apple, and collaborated with cultural figures such as David Beckham, Dua Lipa and Beyoncé.

In 2020, Lee and Stuart were appointed Consulting Creative Directors at British Vogue by editor Edward Enninful, contributing to the magazine’s evolution for a contemporary audience. In 2025, they partnered with Enninful again as Creative Directors of his new platform and magazine, EE72.

Their creative vision informs every aspect of Suburbia’s work.
